I bought 4 of these to use as a base for a guest bed. I needed storage, but also a bed, so I bought 4 of them which was equal to an XL Twin Bed. I placed a foam mattress on top, and it works like a dream! I was very pleased with the sturdiness of the trunk, and it holds a lot without a strain. It works as a bed base, better than expected! I have had this for a couple of months and seems to be holding up pretty well. It is out in the weather with my other "wicker" furniture and with one exception of the some raveling around the handle on one side, it seems to be doing really well. I put my pillows and cushions in it when I suspect rain and they stay pretty dry. I have looked at these elsewhere and they are at least twice the price.
